The 30th International Tango Festival is a 10 days cultural programme in Granada. Come along to enjoy two special evenings at the Hotel Alhambra Palace.
The Festival Internacional de Tango de Granada begins on the 8th of March and ends on the 18th March 2018, the oldest and most established of its kind in Europe offers a special programme titled ´To yesterday’s immigrants & todays refugees ´
One of the most relevant dates in the social calendar of Granada the Tango festival has attracted over 1500 prestigious artists such as Roberto Goyeneche, Osvaldo Pugliese, Horacio Ferrer, Amelita Baltar, Eladia Blázquez, the Rivarola and the Dinzels.
The rhythm of Tango will fill each corner of the city of the Alhambra for 10 days. Street activities, dances in the squares and concerts will be held in different monuments and some locations in Granada province too.
The Theatre located inside the Hotel Alhambra Palace is one of the settings for the prestigious Tango Festival. An important setting on the Spanish cultural scene, In 1922 the first Competition of Cante Jondo was organised in this space. Federico Garcia Lorca and Manuel de Falla were the first to hold a competition to recognise Flamenco style.
Uno de estos escenarios será el Teatro del Hotel Alhambra Palace. Famoso por acoger, en 1922, el primer ‘Concurso del Cante Jondo’ con el que Federico García Lorca y Manuel de Falla hicieron un primer reconocimiento culto al flamenco.

Concha Medina will perform Milonga. Dancing & singing in this style in the theatre at the Hotel Alhambra Palace
